ICHCAP Signed MOU with Seoul National University Asia Center
ICHCAP singed an MOU with Seoul National University Asia Center (the Asia Center) on June 20 to promote research and academic exchange in the ICH field in Asia.
Since its establishment in 2009, the Asia Center has been conducting research on various issues in Asia under the vision of creating a global hub of Asian research through creating and sharing knowledge based on the combination of regions and subjects.
ICHCAP and the Asia Center will collaborate on joint research activities in the ICH field in the region to facilitate personnel and information exchange and promote multicultural understanding in the region.
In addition, Mr. Soo Jin Park, Director of the Asia Centre and many of Senior Research Fellows from Northeast Asia Center, Southeast Asia Center, Central Asia Center, and West Asia Center joined in the MOU signing ceremony and briefly introduced the current research activities and issues in the region.
Mr. Park said that “support and cooperation toward research on the social and cultural aspects of Asia are needed in the context that much research on Asia focuses on the political and economic issues.” He also expressed his desire to have fruitful results in collaboration with ICHCAP.
Through this MOU between ICHCAP and the Asia Center, research on ICH and cultural issues based on the regional studies in Asia is expected to be further facilitated.
